DemBloc is currently conducting a governance audit of Your Party. We are reviewing how the Party’s agreed governance arrangements have operated in practice, using the Constitution, Standing Orders, First Year Organisational Strategy and relevant later governance instruments as the main framework.
The audit examines whether agreed rules and institutions were implemented, whether democratic rights could be exercised effectively, and whether experience has revealed ambiguities, omissions or structural weaknesses.
It is not intended to adjudicate political disagreements between factions, tendencies or individuals, or to decide which political strategy is preferable. Political context may be relevant where it helps explain a governance issue, but the audit itself focuses on authority, decision-making, accountability, transparency, participation, communication, decentralisation, institutional capacity and implementation.
Evidence may include official records, minutes, emails, notices, decision logs and other documentary material, as well as first-hand contemporaneous testimony that is sufficiently specific and capable of corroboration.
The audit does not assume that every allegation is true or that every governance problem amounts to a constitutional breach. Submissions will be assessed for relevance, provenance, corroboration and evidentiary weight.
We are therefore inviting members to submit any evidence they may hold that is relevant to alleged governance infringements, implementation failures or structural weaknesses.
We aim to produce as clear, evidence-based and defensible an account as possible of how the Party’s governance settlement has functioned, where it has worked, where it has not, and what evidence is still needed.
Our ongoing investigation and audit will make every effort to protect and respect the anonymity of anyone who submits evidence. Regardless of the method of submission, the audit team will take all necessary steps to ensure that identities remain completely confidential and secure throughout every stage of this process.
NOTE: There are four ways to submit evidence.
Please submit using the most suitable method below.
